What else?

Nem eu nem o Pedro somos grandes apreciadores de café. No entanto, quem cá vem, normalmente gosta. Como bons anfitriões que somos (os convidados que se manifestem via comentários se tiverem algo a dizer ou calem-se para sempre) decidimos comprar uma máquina de café para os nossos convidados.
Visto que habitualmente estamos na sala (e brevemente no terraço, espera-se!) achámos que fazia sentido ter a máquina aí... com umas bolachinhas de manteiga e uns bombons (afinal não os como todos).
Gostava de encontrar um tabuleiro para colocar tudo, ainda não encontrei o ideal (se tiverem sugestões manifestem-se) e  acho que fica o serviço completo...
Bem, só falta mesmo o George Clooney vir tirar os cafés...

Neither Pedro nor I are coffee lovers. But our guests usually are. As good hosts that we are (guests please manifest via comments if you have something to say or shut up forever), we decided to buy a coffee machine for our guests.
As we are usually in the living room (and asap on the terrace, I hope!) we thought it made ​​sense to have the machine there ... with some cookies and some chocolates (I do not eat them all).
I would like to find a tray to put everything, but I don't find the ideal one yet (if you have suggestions please share). After this, I think the is completed...

Winter Mode

Antes de mais, muitas desculpas pela ausência! A verdade é que isto tem sido só passeio ao fim de semana (ou doentes) e a casa está mesmo em modo stand-by.
Mas no próximo fim-de-semana, já teremos novidades :)
Entretanto vou mostrando alguns detalhes.

First of all, many apologies for the absence! The truth is that we have been out during the the weekend (or sick) and the house is in standby mode.
But, in the  next weekend, we will have news :)
Until then, I will show you some details.

Adoramos mantasa no sofá mas não é viável arrumá-las todos os dias no armário.
Assim, é só colocar dentro do cesto (do IKEA, claro!).
Por favor ignorem os cabos, prometo que serão brevemente escondidos;)

We love blankets on the couch but it is not feasible to put them in the closet all day.
So, we just put them in the basket (from IKEA, of course).
Please ignore the cables, I promise it will be hidden asap.

Proud

O Pedro, por iniciativa própria (juro que não sugeri nada - directa ou indirectamente - nem fiz nenhum tipo de ameaça ou promessa de recompensa!) decidiu arrumar o móvel da TV e ligar o sistema de som a tudo.
Estou mesmo orgulhosa dele:)
Ainda temos uns cabos para esconder mas acho que ficou bem melhor! É uma pena não ter o antes para vos mostrar!

Make-up Session - II

E estes são os cortinados da sala. Ficam lindos de noite e maravilhosos de dia, com a luz a entrar. Estou rendída!
Um grande obrigado à Sandra, à Tânia e ao Gonçalo, que fizeram um esforço tremendo para termos todos os cortinados prontos antes do Natal.
Podem ver mais fotos do trabalho da Sandra aqui! O difícil é mesmo escolher de entre todos os tecidos lindos, mas a Sandra ajuda muito!
Ah, ainda falta mostrar os do escritório! Talvez para o próximo ano ;)

Finally, the living room curtains. They are beautiful at night and during the day, with the light. I'm surrended!
 A big thank you to Sandra, Tânia and Gonçalo, who made a tremendous effort to have all the curtains ready before Christmas.
You can see more photos of Sandra's work here! The hard part is to choose from among all the beautiful fabrics, but Sandra is very helpful!
Ah, still missing to show you the office curtains! Maybe in the next year;)

Xmas Dinner

A ceia de Natal foi aqui em casa. Não deu para por os marcadores de mesa porque éramos muitos mas ficam para a mesa de um próximo jantar.
Há que agradecer ao meu irmão Zé que ajudou a por a mesa.


Lá ao fundo são os cortinados novos da sala, brevemente um post sobre o assunto!


The Christmas dinner was here.  We did not use the pewter plates because we were many. Thwy will be used in next dinner.
A special thank you to my brother Zé, who helped to set the table. We must thank my brother Joe who helped set the table.

Living Room

O estado actual da sala...Não é muito atractivo mas terá novos desenvolvimentos (a mesa está no sítio errado, vai ficar junto à janela).

The current state of the living room  ... It's not very attractive but  new developments are coming soon (the table is in the wrong place, it will be next to the window).

Esta casa tinha algumas paredes que mais pareciam um passador, de tantos buracos que tinham (devido a quadros e móveis suspensos). Fica o antes e depois da sala de estar.

This house had some walls that looked like a sieve (a lot of holes due to hanging paintings and furniture).
